From the notices: 9th July 2017

A quiet reflective service of Music and Devotions from Taizé will be held this evening, 9 July, at 6.00 for 6.30 pm in St Julian’s Church, adjacent to Rouen Road. There is a large car park opposite the Church. 

At Chapel Field Road this Saturday 15 July at 3.00 pm we look forward to a Circuit Service of Farewell for Revd Nigel Fox, Revd Freddy Takavarasha and Deacon Julie Hudson, followed by a Bring and Share Tea (please bring items on the day). Note that the Church Car Park will be closed from 1.00 pm. Parking will be available at the Pay and Display car park at Bignold School, next door. 

Following this, The Norwich Singers, with professional soloists, will present a Summer Concert at Chapel Field Road on Saturday 15 July at 7.30 pm, including Poulenc’s Gloria and Fauré’s Requiem. Tickets on the door will be £8.00. 

The Friends of Cromwell House will be holding their annual Garden Party on Saturday 22 July at 2.30 pm, opened by Deacon Julie Hudson and her husband Wayne. Anita Ingham would welcome items for the stalls: cakes, books, puzzles, tombola gifts; she would also be grateful for offers of help on the afternoon. 

At our morning service on Sunday 23 July we shall focus on Mission in Britain and welcome Nick Williams, a former Sheriff of Norwich and currently the Chair of St Martins Housing Trust, as our preacher. He will be speaking about his work in that role and about homelessness in Norwich. 

Our annual Church Walk will take place in the afternoon on Sunday 23 July, meeting at Morley Methodist Chapel for a 3.00 pm start. A service there conducted by Revd Jacqui Horton will follow at 4.00 pm, with tea afterwards. 

All you Quiz-lovers, make a note of Thursday 27 July. The Circuit Methodist Women in Britain (MWiB) have arranged a light-hearted evening of brain-teasing questions devised by Paul Binney, our Quiz-Master. Either arrange a team of 6 – 8 in advance or join a team when you arrive at 7.00 for a 7.30 pm start, and bring a contribution to the Bring and Share Finger Buffet. The cost of the evening, in aid of World Mission, is £5.00, payable on the evening. Please let Margaret Snelling know by next Sunday, 16 July, if you intend to come (01603 613724 or The Bignold School car park will be available.
