From the notices: 30th July 2017

Please note: there is no Junior Church this morning. Because of the difficulty in arranging staff during the summer holiday period we can’t offer our usual Crèche and Junior Church activities during August or the first Sunday in September.

This highlights our need for more volunteers to staff these vital areas of our Church life and work. Please think and pray about whether you could offer some of your time in these ways to the youngest members of our Church family.

Pauline Mann is compiling our Church Calendar for 2017/8 and would like information about dates for inclusion in the calendar and any changes to email or postal addresses and telephone numbers by the end of July.

The August edition of Contact, our Church magazine, is out today. Do ask the Pew Stewards for your copy. Items for the September issue should be with Pauline Mann by 20 August.

A reminder to members of the Business and Publicity Committees that there will be a joint meeting on Monday 7 August at 7.00 pm.

Once again we shall be participating in the annual Norfolk Churches Trust Sponsored Cycle Ride and Walk, which encourages people to visit historic churches in and around the city. The event will be on Saturday 9 September between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm. Half of the proceeds are donated to the Trust; our half will be given to our Mission Project, currently the Vidiyal Trust. Forms and details will be available from Sandra Brown.

Thank you to all who helped in any way at, or attended, the Cromwell House Garden Party. It was a huge success, making over £800 in such a short time. Anita and David are very grateful to you all.

Syrian Refugees: The next group of Syrian families will be arriving in Norwich during August. Various household items are required such as kitchen and bathroom accessories, toys and books as well as larger items of furniture. Further details can be found on posters in the Church Centre. If you have something to donate this can be done through the Government website: www.gov.uk/help-refugees. If you do not have a computer please see Terry Dunning.

You’re invited to join with other churches in praying this week for Norwich Central Baptist Church and for the nightclubs in our city.

Love is the touch of intangible joy;

love is the force no fear can destroy;

love is the goodness we gladly applaud:

God is where love is, for love is of God.
