From the Notices 3rd February 2019

v Carey Moore is our guest organist for Morning Worship today. We welcome him into our fellowship and trust that he will feel at home with us.

v We are sad to hear of the death of Howard Duncombe. His funeral will take place this Monday, 4 February, at 10.15 am at Earlham Crematorium, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life at Hethersett Methodist Church at 11.15am, after which refreshments will be served in the Church hall. We hold his family in our thoughts and prayers. Donations in his memory will be shared between Nelson’s Journey and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

v The February issue of Contact, our Church magazine, is out today. Do ask the Pew Stewards for your copy. Items for the March edition should be with Pauline Mann by 17 February.

v Please note that Methodist Safeguarding rules mean that we need all key holders to sign new Safeguarding Form D Key holder Declarations. If you are a key holder Chris Hopper or Margaret Snelling will, over the next few weeks, let you have a new form to sign. It is also an opportunity to review who holds keys to the church; if you have a key please consider returning it if it is no longer a necessity.

v MHA is organising a Circuit event at Hethersett Methodist Church to raise awareness of, and give information about, the services they offer for older people. Everyone is welcome to attend. It will take place on Tuesday 5 March from 11.00 am until 1.00 pm and will include a free light buffet lunch. Anita Ingham has further details if you are interested.

v Advance notice of an exciting free 3Generate event for anyone aged 8 to 23 on Saturday 9 March from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, at High Street Methodist Church, Harpenden. There will be workshops, activities and worship. Transport can be arranged. Talk to Revd Debbie Caulk, who can let you have more details.

v The annual District Songs of Praise at Thursford is on Sunday 24 March at 3.00 pm. There are likely to be a few seats on the coach available. Please contact Terry Dunning if you are interested. Details will be announced in due course.

v MWiB’s Spring District Day will be held at Dereham Methodist Church on 28 March, when the speaker will be Rev Debbie Caulk. If you would like to attend and go by coach please let Margaret Snelling know as soon as possible, at the latest by 11 March. It commences at 11.00 am and will finish at around 4.00 pm.

v Thank you for your generous donations recently to the Norwich Foodbank, which have helped many individuals and families in crisis. The need goes on; do keep your donations coming, using the shopping list overleaf as a guide.

v You’re invited to join other churches in praying this week for Old Meeting Congregational Church and for the Health Centres in our city.
