From the Notices: 3rd March 2019

 Today we return and dedicate our Stewardship pledges of time, talents and money, giving thanks to God for all that he has so generously given for us.

 We are sad to hear that Stan Pawson has died; we remember Mary and their family in our thoughts and prayers. His funeral service will be held at Chapel Field Road on Thursday 14 March at 11.30 am, followed by committal at Earlham Crematorium at 12.30 pm.

 We also mourn the death of Lynette Collier, who had lived with illness for so long but was always determined and uncomplaining. We pray for her son Stuart and his family. Details of her funeral arrangements will follow.

 Fair Trade Fortnight continues this week and runs until 10 March. Campaigners, businesses, schools and churches show their support for the farmers and workers who grow our food in developing countries and we can all join in. Look out for the Fair Trade logo while you’re shopping, choose Fair Trade products and make a difference!

 MHA is organising a Circuit event at Hethersett Methodist Church this Tuesday, 5 March, from 11.00 am – 1.00 pm, to raise awareness of the services they offer for older people. Everyone is welcome to attend. It will include a free light buffet lunch. Anita Ingham has further details if you are interested.

 The Circuit MWiB Spring Lunch is this Thursday, 7 March, 12.30 pm for 1.00 pm, at Trinity Church, Thorpe Marriott. Details are on a poster on the Church Centre notice board.

 Refresher Safeguarding Courses are being held at Chapel Field Road on Saturdays 9 and 23 March at 9.45 am for 10.00, to finish by 12.30 pm. Please book places now with Michael Garratt: 457053 or

 The Appointments Commission is meeting on 11 and 12 March to appoint a new Bishop of Norwich. We pray that they will be guided in their discussions and led to make a wise decision for the Diocese of Norwich and for ecumenical relations in our city.

 On Sunday 17 March from 3.00 – 5.30 pm the acclaimed pianist Margaret Fingerhut is performing at the Assembly House, to raise awareness of the needs of refugees and collect funds for City of Sanctuary refugee groups, including those in our city. Tickets, £15.00, are available through the Theatre Royal booking office.

 Thursford Songs of Praise, Sunday 24 March: Please pay the coach fare of £8.00 to Margaret Snelling, if you have not already done so. Terry Dunning will have the entrance tickets next Sunday, 10 March.

 MWiB’s Spring District Day will be held at Dereham Methodist Church on 28 March, 11.00 – 4.00, speaker Rev Debbie Caulk. If you’d like to attend and go by coach please let Margaret Snelling know at the latest by 11 March.
