From the Notices: 1st December 2019

 We are sad to hear of the death at Cromwell House of Audrey Edwards, for many years a faithful and active member of Chapel Field Road. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. A Service of Thanksgiving for her life will be held at Chapel Field Road this Friday, 6 December, at 11.00 am. Please note that the Church car park will not be available until after 3.30 pm.

 On Christmas morning we need to ensure that we have enough drivers to bring guests to Chapel Field Road, either for the morning service or for lunch afterwards, and also to take them home again later in the day. Please consider whether you could help, either on the morning of Christmas Day or in the evening, at around 5.00 pm. Stephen Osborn will be glad to hear from you, either in person or on 01603 426189.

 The Norwich Singers are presenting a Carol Concert at Chapel Field Road on Saturday 14 December at 7.30 pm. Details are on the Church Centre notice board.

 A Celebration for Christmas: for our Gift Service on 15 December we are invited to bring items for St Martin’s Housing Trust for their Christmas Dinner for 60 residents in their hostels for the homeless in Norwich. Please look at the chart at the front of the Church, select which items you will bring to that service and tick the relevant box – we hope that they will all be ticked.

 Please note that items for the January 2020 edition of Contact, our Church magazine, should be with Pauline Mann by 15 December.

 You will have noticed the appeal in Contact for helpers at our weekly Saturday Coffee Morning, who would be on a rota which currently means being on duty once in five weeks. At least three new helpers are required. If you can help please have a word with Robert Girling as soon as possible, so that you can be included on the rota for 2020.

 Thanks to those of you who serve the tea and coffee after our morning services and all of you who make a donation for your cup of tea or coffee. The money collected goes to help the work of JMA, the Junior Mission for All, which supports mission projects around the world.

 We’re invited to join with other churches in praying this week for Trinity URC, and for the Transport Services in our city.

You keep us waiting.
You, the God of all time,
Want us to wait for the right time
In which to discover who we are,
Where we must go, who will be with us
And what we must do.
So thank you . . . for the waiting time.
