From the Notices: 12th January 2020

 We are sad to hear of the death on Monday of Janet Finnemore, a faithful member of our Church. We hold David, her husband, in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

 We have also heard of the death at the end of December of Michael Webster who, with his wife Gill, used to worship regularly here at Chapel Field Road. A Service of Thanksgiving for Michael’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Mile Cross on Friday, 24 January at 12 noon.

 The January edition of Contact, our Church magazine, is out now. Do ask the Pew Stewards for your copy. Items for the February edition should be with Pauline Mann by 19 January.

 On Thursday 16 January at 7.30 pm there will be a meeting at Chapel Field Road to discuss God in Love Unites Us, the Methodist Conference report on Marriage and Relationships. Every church has been asked to discuss all the issues and each person’s views will be fed back to the District Synod. The main areas of change are consideration of same sex relationships and marriage. Copies of the Study Guide are available at each entrance of the Church. For further details see the insert in the January edition of Contact.

 The Chain of Prayer for Christian Unity takes place on Thursday 23 January in St Luke’s Chapel, Norwich Cathedral, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. All are welcome at any time. Our church will be leading the prayers from 12.45 to 1.00pm.

 St Martin’s Housing Trust have written to us expressing their gratitude for the practical Christmas Gifts we donated and the final total of £140, emphasising that our support means a great deal to them.

 With the addition of some late gifts to Christian Aid, we are delighted to hear that the grand total now amounts to £966.97. Thank you for your generous donations in the envelopes and through the Church Christmas card.

 We’re invited to join with other churches in praying this week for Norwich Cathedral, and for schools in our city, their governors, teachers and students.
