v At the start of the morning service it is our custom to stand, if you are able to, when the worship leader enters. We shall be invited to sit.
v We continue to mourn the death of Janet Finnemore, a faithful member of our Church. We hold David, her husband and Nigel and Peter, her sons, in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. A Service of Thanksgiving for her life will be held at Chapel Field Road this Friday, 7 February, at 11.00 am, followed by refreshments.
v The February edition of Contact, our Church magazine, is out today. Do ask the Pew Stewards for your copy. Items for the March edition should be with Pauline Mann by 16 February.
v We’re invited to join with other churches in praying this week for Old Meeting Congregational Church, and for the Health Centres in our city.

Kingfisher. All you can do is
Be where he is likely to appear, and
Often nothing much happens;
There is space, silence and
No visible sign, only the
Knowledge that he’s been there
And may come again.
Seeing or not seeing cease to matter,
You have been prepared.
But sometimes, when you’ve almost
Stopped expecting it,
A flash of brightness
